Toggle1. How long has Navitas Solar been in the solar PV module manufacturing and supply business in India, and what is your market presence?
Vineet Mittal: Navitas Solar has been in the solar PV module manufacturing since last 11 years. We have started our journey with manufacturing capacity of 75 MW p.a. and now we are able to expand the capacity to 1.7 GW p.a. We are amongst the top 10 module manufacturers in India featured by JMK Research & Analytics. We also have completed approximately 20 MW of projects under our solar EPC services.
2. Could you provide an overview of the solar PV modules Navitas Solar manufactures and supplies? What makes your products unique in the market?
Vineet Mittal: We are offering poly crystalline modules, Mono PERC modules and TOPCon modules in terms of technology. In Mono PERC Half Cut type, Navitas Bonito offers modules in 10 BB 144,156 cells generating power from 435 to 600 watts. We also have Navitas Bifacial in Mono PERC Half Cut type that gives 30% more generation because of bifaciality. These modules can generate power from backside of the panels also. Navitas Bifacial is available in 12 BB, 132 cells that can generate power from 660 to 680 watts. Our latest launch is N-type Navitas TOPCon which are next generation modules that can generate power up to 720 watts per panel.
3. How does your company ensure the quality and reliability of its solar PV modules, and are there any certifications or standards that your products adhere to?
Vineet Mittal: Our USP is a young team who can adapt the changes in technology quickly. We are focusing on new technology while improving the product continuously. Our new lines are at par with the best technology, which will be able to provide world-class multi bus bar panels. We are backed with a very strong in house QA and QC lab. We also have technically sound QA & QC team and R&D team who are continuously dedicated towards improving the quality. We have our in-house EVA sheet-manufacturing unit as our backward integration and we are hugely benefitted from it. Certainly, there are some standards which we are supposed to follow in module manufacturing industry and we’re backed by all the necessary certifications like ALMM, ISO by TUV SUD, UL, IEC etc.
4. What is the manufacturing capacity of your company’s solar PV modules, and how has production journey evolved over the past few years?
Vineet Mittal: We have completed 11 years in the industry. It was a wonderful journey with full of learnings, projects, excitements, achievements and lessons. We have started with 75 MW p.a. followed by expansions of 200 MW, 500 MW and now 1.7 GW p.a. We have started with 3 Bus Bar Modules which could generate power from 3 to 250 Watts per panel and now we are manufacturing 10 Bus Bar modules up to 670 watts per panel. In the new manufacturing line, we can manufacture modules up to 20 Bus Bars that can generate power up to 720 watts per panel. We have raised funds of 5 MN USD and on boarded some investors also in 2023.
5. Can you highlight any recent technological innovations or advancements in your solar PV modules that set your products apart in terms of efficiency or performance?
Vineet Mittal: In this year, we are starting production of Navitas N-type TOPCon modules which can offer efficiency >22% and generate power up to 720 watts per panel. We would like to onboard big clients with this new technological shift in the industry. We believe that N-type Navitas TOPCon modules will be the choice of the consumers in the upcoming time.
