Navitas Solar Launch N-Type TOPcon Half-Cut Bifacial Modules

Navitas Solar has recently launched Next Generation N-Type TOPCon Half-Cut Bifacial Modules recently at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2023. The modules are available in 16 BB, 132 & 144 cells that can generate power from 575 to 710 watts with module efficiency greater than 22%. N-type TOPCon modules will be manufactured at the new manufacturing expansion facility of 1.2 GW p.a. The facility will be able to manufacture N-type TOPCon Half Cut Bifacial Modules up to 20 bus bars with power up to 720 watts per panel.

Navitas N-Type TOPCon Half-Cut Bifacial Modules are best suited for ground-mounted projects. N-type TOPCon Bifacial Modules have the higher power generation and reliable characteristic resistance. These panels provide efficient production under extreme weather conditions along with bifaciality and lower degradation rate. N-type TOPCon Bifacial Modules generate significantly more power per watt(kWh/kW) over Long life of use.

The modules possess features like Extra Power, Extra Life, Double-Sided Power Generation, Excellent anti-LeTID & anti-PID performance, Lower temperature coefficient and Lower LCOE & system cost. The modules are produced using Non-Destructive Cutting process for better low-light performance and negligible chances of micro-cracks.

TOPCon(Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technology pairs tunnel oxide passivation with PERC solar cells to reduce recombination losses and increase efficiency. With efficiency rates surpassing traditional solar panels, TOPCon offers a cost-effective solution for harnessing more energy. Its seamless integration into manufacturing processes and efficiency gains make it an ideal choice for the future of renewable energy.

In TOPCon technology, the metal does not come into direct contact with the wafer. Alternatively, a thin tunneling oxide is applied, followed by a layer of highly doped with n or p type silicon that contacts the metal at the ends. The tunneling oxide does not affect the operation of the device, as the tunneling oxide blocks one type of carrier. Therefore, these structures are commonly referred to as the passivating contacts.

Projected total wafer capacity by 2023’s end of N-type TOPCon cells is expected to reach 676 GW accounting for 57.7% of the total capacity. We, at Navitas Solar, a leading module manufacturing company believe that in the upcoming years N-Type TOPCon technology will dominate the Indian Solar Market by the next year. N-Type TOPCon Bifacial panels will be the choice of consumers in the upcoming future.
