Fulfilling Sustainable Development Goals For Greener & Cleaner Earth

“The earth is what we all have in common”

True to the above quote, the onus of making our planet a healthier and happier place to live is a responsibility of all, and with this notion in mind, SDGs came into being. By definition, “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or global goals as they’re popularly called are a collection of 17 global and interlinked goals designed to be a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.” These were adopted by 193 member states in the UN General assembly in September 2015 and which came into effect on 1st Jan 2016. They are essentially planned to be achieved by 2030. India was one of the members too.

Navitas Solar has worked on various fronts and already satisfied some SDGs by doing various projects.

Navitas Solar has provided GMC, health policy, Personal accident, workers compensation insurances to our employees. We believe to provide utmost care in terms of health to our employees. We arrange health check-up and blood donations camps frequently for the same.

4. Quality Education:

In quality education, Navitas Solar has collaborated with Ekal Vidhyalaya, Anil Naik Technical Training Center (ANTTC) for tribal education and skill development training. Navitas Solar has launched JYOTI initiative in which we approach different schools and colleges and deliver a lecture on sustainability a path for the future and aware the students (our future generation) about sustainability, carbon footprint, ESG, SDG and carbon neutrality and arrange industrial visits for the students to have exposure of the industry. We are humbled to announce that we have sensitized 1000+ students until now.

5. Gender Equality: manufacturing

We believe in gender equality and we have employed more women in the manufacturing plant. We encourage more participation of women in the renewable energy industry and we truly believe that by huge participation from women, our nation’s GDP will grow.

6. Clean Water and Sanitation

We use wastewater to clean the rooftop panels and in sanitation to promote the reuse of wastewater.

7. Affordable and Clean Energy

Mainly by manufacturing solar modules, we’re satisfying this SDG. By using affordable and clean energy, we can reduce the use of fossil fuels. By adopting solar, carbon emissions can be reduced and so the carbon footprint. Among all the renewable energy resources, solar is mainly considered as it has less maintenance. Navitas Solar is proud to generate clean energy at our premises by installing 273 kW of rooftop solar. Navitas Solar is proud to be in the business of solar module manufacturing which helps the world to be sustainable. We are thoroughly fulfilling affordable and clean energy SDG.

8. Decent Work and Economic Growth

The company is in a hyper-growth phase driven by its high-quality and reliable solar products. Navitas Solar has bootstrapped the company with its own funds of Mittal, Shah and Singhania families and reached its current growth level. Right now, we are raising professional equity in Navitas Solar. Soon, we will close Series A round fund raise by having senior investors on board. We have realized more than 30% YOY growth, and with positive cash flows and profit from the very first year, we have realized better net margins than industry’s average margins. Navitas Group has clocked total revenue of Rs. 200 Cr and projects to reach Rs. 2500 Cr by 2025.

9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure:

We have recently expanded a capacity of 500 MW p.a. to manufacture solar modules up to 600 watts. We have recently launched Bonito Modules in which Bonito Pro are Mono perc half cut modules in 9 BB in 144 & 156 cells which can generate from 435 to 500 watts and Bonito max are mono perc half cut modules in 10 BB in 144 & 156 cells which can generate from 530 to 600 watts.

10. Reduced Inequalities

We have always believed in equality and we engage employee-training programs to reduce inequalities in the workspace.

11. Sustainable Cities and Communities

We have started a bus facility for employees. It reduces carbon emissions compared to personal commute.

12. Responsible Consumption and Production

We have changed tube lights in the manufacturing by LEDs in the manufacturing area. We have installed an Automatic Power Factor Correction(APFC) panel to improve power factor and quality of power.

13. Climate Action

We are humbled to announce that we’re a Carbon neutral organization. We have achieved “Silver Badge ” from the United Nations Framework Convention on
Climate Change under the Climate Neutral Now initiative for climate reporting.

We have done collaboration with Forest creators for tree plantation and we are humbled to announce that we have planted 5000 trees until now. We have done collaboration with Ekal Vidhyalaya for Tribal Education and ANTTC for skill development and training. We have done MOUs with SCET (SU), Surat, UTU, Bardoli and RNGPIT, Bardoli to bridge the gap between industry and academics.

One of the listed SDGs’ is ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’, which directly and indirectly links to ‘Climate Action’.
