How India is silently becoming the next major PV player

India is rapidly emerging as a significant player in the global solar industry, aiming to achieve self-sufficiency in solar modules by 2026. To attain this goal, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐑&𝐃) 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫. However, challenges persist, including raw material, skilled labour and requirement of huge capital investments in domestic production capacity.

By investing in infrastructure, fostering innovation, and nurturing a skilled workforce, India can transform its solar industry and play a significant role in the global clean energy transition.
