80% Of India’s Solar Panel Projects Planned in Only 5 States
The latest report by 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 (𝐌𝐍𝐑𝐄) reveals that approximately 𝟖𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐠𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬.
As of June 30, 2023, the cumulative capacity of 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝟏𝟖 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝟓𝟓,𝟗𝟎𝟐 𝐌𝐖. The states with the highest ongoing solar project capacities are Rajasthan (23,344 MW),Gujarat (12,424 MW), Maharashtra (3,773 MW), Andhra Pradesh (2,650 MW) and Karnataka (2,181 MW). These five states are not only leading in solar projects but also have the highest installed renewable energy capacity in total. They account for approximately 𝟕𝟗% 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬.
𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐲 optimistic about the future projects 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.
